LOS ANGELES, CA Los Angeles Tourism, a trailblazer in the area of virtual site inspections, is leveraging a variety of digital tools to help planners design their attendees’ future L.A. experiences during this challenging time.

“We know planners across the globe are hard at work, planning events and ensuring the continuity of future business. Our team is harnessing the creativity, innovation and cutting-edge technology Los Angeles is known for to help planners navigate the unforeseen challenges brought by the pandemic,” stated Darren K Green, senior vice president for sales at the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board. “Like any producer knows, events — like movies — are one part logistics, one part hard work, and a sprinkling of magic. These tools will help set the stage.”

A newly launched resource page, discoverlosangeles.com/magichour/meetings, serves as a one-stop-shop for:

Virtual Site Inspections: Featuring more than 35 locations throughout Los Angeles including the Los Angeles Convention Center, hotels, museums and movie studios. A new downtown walking tour connects the Los Angeles Convention Center with frequently visited locations like the 7th and Fig, the Metro station and Pershing Square, and is annotated by videos of Los Angeles Tourism team members who bring the locations to life and explain nearby points of interest.

Digital Presentations: Using a cloud-based presentation tool, the Los Angeles team creates customized presentations that allow for organic conversation and easier sharing without being encumbered by large file technology restrictions.

Zoom Backgrounds: Digital backgrounds of iconic L.A. landscapes invite clients to picture themselves in L.A. during their online communications.

Sales Team “Get to Know” Videos: With a nationally dispersed sales team, Los Angeles Tourism didn’t want the social distancing guidelines to inhibit planners from getting to know the team. Each sales team member recorded a video highlighting what they love about L.A., their work, and their go-to favorite spots in L.A.

Online Venue Finder:  Recently revamped to optimize search, this tool features hundreds of Los Angeles venues searchable by size, capacity and/or location, and contains a mapping tool to plot the distance between points of interest and possible venue hosts.
