Salt Lake’s Marriott Flagship Downtown Hotel All Renovated & Ready to Go!

Meeting and event planners, what could be better than this? According to a recent announcement, the iconic Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown Hotel at City Creek recently completed a multi-million-dollar renovation project in the heart of Utah’s capital city. Not only does it offer 510 guest rooms and suites, as well as nearly 25,000 square feet of meeting space, but it also provides unparalleled access to Temple Square, the Salt Palace Convention Center, and City Creek Center, which is ideal for shopping and dining when attendees have free time. On-site, guests will also enjoy Salt Stone, the hotel’s signature restaurant featuring locally inspired cuisine; Destinations Lounge, a vibrant cocktail bar; and a full-service Starbucks. Additional amenities include a modern fitness center and refreshed public spaces designed for comfort and connection.

Blending contemporary design with the rich history of downtown Salt Lake City, the “new” hotel serves as a destination for meeting attendees and convention-goers alike. Guests can expect refreshed guest rooms, redesigned public spaces, a modernized restaurant and bar, and updated meeting areas – positioning the property as both a premier destination for visitors and a competitive leader within Salt Lake City’s booming hospitality market.

“With this renovation, we’re proud to offer guests the best of both worlds – the heritage and history of Salt Lake City’s flagship downtown hotel, combined with the comfort and style of a newly refreshed property,” said Andreo Girardi, general manager of the Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown at City Creek. “Our unmatched location, steps from Temple Square, the Salt Palace Convention Center, and world-class shopping at City Creek, paired with a contemporary new look, ensures we can continue to welcome business, leisure, and group travelers for decades to come.”

According to Marirott management, this is the culmination of a multi-phase investment totaling tens of millions of dollars. This most recent phase encompassed the main lobby, restaurant, bar, and meeting spaces – reimagined to reflect the vibrant energy of downtown Salt Lake City while offering functionality for conferences, fundraisers, and other gatherings. The project also introduces updates to the previously mentioned Salt Stone, the hotel’s signature restaurant, which serves upscale cuisine infused with local ingredients and flavors.

For meetings and events, the biggest highlight is that the updated Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown at City Creek is its proximity to the Salt Palace Convention Center – in fact, it’s directly across the street – while the hotel’s refreshed ballrooms and meeting rooms are designed to accommodate other events like board meetings and even large-scale banquets.
