Out of the Dessert: A Partnership of Brains & Muscle

ASM Global has gone Golden. That is, the hottest deal to come out of the desert in recent times (in this case, Laughlin, Nevada) is the recent announcement of ASM Global’s new partnership with Golden Entertainment.

To backstep a bit, ASM Global is said to be the world’s greatest producer of entertainment experiences, and an absolute global leader in venue and event strategy and management — delivering locally tailored solutions and cutting-edge technologies to achieve maximum results for venue owners. It has an elite venue network that stretches across five continents, with a portfolio of more than 350 of the world’s most prestigious arenas, stadiums, convention, and exhibition centers, and performing arts venues.

Similarly, Golden Entertainment owns and operates a diversified entertainment platform, consisting of a portfolio of gaming and hospitality assets that focus on casino and branded tavern operations. It operates with more than 5,600 slots, 100 table games, and 6,000 hotel rooms. Collectively, Golden Entertainment owns eight casino resorts in Southern Nevada and 69 gaming taverns in Nevada.

So, in this scenario, ASM has the management and strategy, and GE has the properties. Well, it is a little more complicated than that, but the coming together of these two mammoth entities becoming close buddies, corporately speaking, is a huge game changer and crowd-pleaser for meeting and event planners. More factually, the recent announcement was worded like this:

ASM inked a multi-year booking arrangement with Golden Entertainment – the largest tavern and slot route operator in Nevada – for the exclusive booking rights at the gaming company’s Laughlin Event Center and The Edge Pavilion, two music venues in the Edgewater Casino Resort. Situated on the west bank of the Colorado River, the resort combines gaming, dining, and live entertainment adjacent to the Riverwalk, which offers legendary views of the majestic Nevada desert scenery and rushing river waters.

Jason Rio, ASM’s senior vice president of live entertainment and content development, responded to the deal by saying, “We are excited about the opportunity to expand Golden’s Laughlin offerings. We look forward to great success exploring opportunities with our worldwide music industries and friends.”

ASM, via its massive worldwide portfolio experience and far-reaching relationships, is able to drive both traditional and non-traditional live entertainment content from virtually all concert promoters. Rio and his team are forecasting year-to-year growth, developing annual franchise events, and securing long-term performer relationships with Golden Entertainment and Laughlin Entertainment Center.

“We are excited to embark on this new partnership with ASM Global, a move that marks a significant milestone for Golden Entertainment’s Laughlin entertainment venues, including The Laughlin Event Center and The Edge Pavilion,” said Brad Goldberg, SVP of Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer at Golden Entertainment, Inc.

Goldberg further commented that he thought the collaboration not only underscores Golden’s commitment to delivering unparalleled entertainment experiences but also leverages ASM Global’s highly capable talent booking services to elevate the Laughlin entertainment landscape.

Well, that’s a huge plus for the meetings industry and it will be interesting to see how meeting and convention groups of all types and sizes put this partnership to work for them. For more information on both: www.asmglobal.com and www.goldenent.com
