Visit Reno Tahoe

RENO, Nev. – Visit Reno Tahoe recorded the highest taxable room revenue ever for the first quarter of 2026 and the highest cash occupied room nights in recent years. These tourism gains build on the strong end to 2025, driven by robust convention business and corporate travel in early 2026.

“Visit Reno Tahoe’s continued record-breaking performance underscores our destination’s growing strength as a premier hub for conventions, sporting events and year-round visitation,” said Mike Larragueta, President and CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe. “As we head into our peak events season, we’re exceptionally well-positioned to build on this momentum and sustain strong growth throughout 2026 and beyond.”

The destination’s strong convention business in the first months of 2026. In January, Visit Reno Tahoe hosted the American Bus Association Marketplace, welcoming more than 2,800 delegates for more than 8,000 room nights, with an estimated $3.8 million economic impact. The destination’s convention momentum has continued into the spring, supported by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Open Championships, which, when finished in July, will generate an estimated 140,000 room nights and $84 million in economic impact. In January of 2026,

The continued growth of tourism to the destination can be seen across the industry, with the Reno-Tahoe International Airport reporting an increase of 1.5% in air travel in the first quarter of 2026. Drive market visitation also remained steady throughout the winter as mild weather made the destination more accessible for travelers driving by car.

In Q1 2026, Visit Reno Tahoe saw a combined taxable room revenue of $106,790,461, which is a YOY increase of 3.3% and represents a record for the destination. Cash occupied room nights are also among the highest in recent years, representing a 6.7% increase from July 2025 to March 2026 compared to the same period in the last fiscal year.
