The Four-Season Urban Basecamp Gears Up for Warmer Days with Festivals, Sporting Events, and Entertainment

RENO, Nev. (April 21, 2025) – As another successful winter season comes to a close, Reno Tahoe [2] reveals an exciting lineup of events, festivals, and happenings for visitors to explore this spring season. With warmer temperatures and longer days, Reno Tahoe provides an urban basecamp to explore the best of the Sierra Nevada, from lake days to popular annual events such as classic car shows, the Reno Rodeo, and more.

 Reno Tahoe’s spring calendar is filled with a dynamic lineup of events, offering visitors a variety of ways to experience the region’s vibrant culture, outdoor adventure, and entertainment. Below are a few Key highlights:

  • Reno Fest [3] at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center offers visitors 11 days of excitement from April 17-27. There are thrilling rides, games, and carnival treats, plus local vendor sales offering unique crafts, art, and goods, and delicious eats from food trucks serving everything from savory bites to sweet treats. 
  • Hot August Nights’ celebrations start early with the Spring Fever Revival Festival [4] from May 16-17 at the Grand Sierra Resort. Car shows feature 1979 and older cars, trucks, emergency vehicles, cruising, live music, and more.
  • The Party Animals [5] are making a sold-out appearance at the Greater Nevada Field for The Banana Ball World Tour in Reno from May 29 to May 31. The Party Animals are a high-energy, show-stopping baseball team that brings electrifying entertainment, wild trick plays, and non-stop action to the Savannah Bananas’ Banana Ball league.
  • Reno River Festival [6] kicks off from May 30 to June 1 with three days of outdoor adventure at its new location at Idlewild Park. Festival activities include concerts in the park, food, local craft beer, shopping, adrenaline-pumping thrill rides, a brand-new 18-hole Bucket Golf course, a new Bark Park with dog-centered activities, and the Great Reno River Rally.
  • BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival [7] enters its 28th year on June 13-14 on Virginia Street. Hosted by THE ROW, the festival offers samples of local barbeque, brews, beverages from over 50 microbreweries, and live entertainment.
  • Reno Rodeo [8], known as the “Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West,” runs from June 19-28. The 105th annual Reno Rodeo is a 10-day event featuring a cattle drive, entertainment, food, carnival, shopping, and more.

 Travelers heading to Reno-Tahoe this spring and summer can enjoy great deals at top hotels, from resort casinos to boutique accommodations, while exploring new restaurants and exciting entertainment options.

  • One of the destination’s newest hotels, the 21-room boutique Best Bet Motor Lodge [10], located conveniently in the heart of MidTown, offers the Spring Bundle package on April bookings. This package includes a bottle of wine upon arrival, an included sauna pass at the on-property Reno Sauna Club, complimentary parking, and early or late checkout.
  • At Grand Sierra Resort [11], travelers who book a stay by April 31st can enjoy up to 25% off rates and a $30 daily credit on visits through August 31st with the Grand Spring Resort Sale. This spring also marks the debut of The White Rabbit Theater and Lounge [12], a new 300-seat magic-themed venue opening May 3 with family-friendly and 18+ shows.   • Reno Tahoe is serving up fresh flavors with new restaurant openings, including Reno Bar and Grill, which offers deluxe wagyu burgers and craft cocktails, and Toro Bravo, which offers upscale Mexican-inspired steaks and seafood on the Reno Riverwalk. Lillo Eatery offers creative brunch dishes like mochi waffles and local bagel sandwiches, and Finbomb Sushi returns with customizable poke bowls and sushi burritos.

 For the busy spring and summer seasons, Reno-Tahoe International Airport [13] (RNO) is rolling out new and returning nonstop flight routes that connect top U.S. destinations, including Carlsbad, Las Vegas, and Austin, to the “Biggest Little City.” 

  • RNO announced that JSX, the award-winning hop-on jet service, will introduce seasonal summer flights from Reno to Las Vegas (LAS) and Carlsbad (CLD) starting June 19th. These routes will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
  • Frontier Airlines now offers travelers new nonstop service from RNO to Las Vegas (LAS) and Denver (DEN).
  • RNO recently celebrated the launch of Southwest Airlines’ new nonstop service to Austin, Texas (AUS), which operates three times a week from the Lone Star State.

For those heading to North Lake Tahoe, Sand Harbor State Park is implementing daily day-use vehicle reservations from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. during the peak season, April 15 through October 15, to help manage visitor flow.
