MIDDLETOWN, CONN., May 19, 2025 -Kimberly Simone, the Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMEETINGS). Connecticut’s only statewide meetings and sports event sales and marketing organization is the Bureau. Its mission is to attract conventions, meetings, and sports events for Connecticut, generating economic growth for the State and its regions through public and private partnerships.

 “Kimberly Simone brings two decades of extensive sales expertise and perspective to our Bureau’s Board as we work to attract new and returning meetings, conventions, and sports events for Connecticut,” explains Thomas Madden, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau. “With nearly two decades of expertise in Connecticut’s hospitality and sales industry, we look forward to continuing our work together to sell the state as a prime destination for event planners.”

 “Kimberly is no stranger to the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau staff and we have worked with in her prior hospitality and sales positions within the state’s MICE [1] (_Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions_) sectors,” adds Robert Murdock, President of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau. “She understands the value of holding events of all sizes and types across Connecticut and exactly what planners look for to ensure their events are successful.”

 Simone joined Mohegan Sun in 2023 as its Director of Sales and was recently named Vice President of Sales and Marketing. She oversees strategic initiatives for the expansive Earth Expo & Convention Center, the Sky Convention Center, and other venues across Mohegan Sun and the nearby Mohegan Sun Golf Club. She is key in driving growth in Mohegan Sun’s convention sales and property-wide hospitality. She focuses on booking world-class venues like the Earth Expo & Convention Center.

 She joined Mohegan Sun from the position of Director of Sales at Saybrook Point Resort & Marina in Old Saybrook, Conn. Before that, she worked at Foxwoods Casino Resort for many years, most recently as its Director of Sales, strategically managing sales operations while tracking and analyzing data to strengthen forward-looking strategy.

 Simone sat on the Board of the Connecticut River Valley chapter of MPI (Meeting Professionals International) as the Vice President of Membership and the Vice President of Marketing and Communications. She was also a member of the New York and New England chapters of PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association). A resident of Mystic, Conn., Simone is a graduate of Bryant College in Smithfield, RI, and the Walt Disney World College Program in Orlando, Fla.
