(PITTSBURGH, PA) – VisitPITTSBURGH is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Fisher Reyes as the new Vice President of Community and Government Affairs. With more than two decades of experience building partnerships and advancing community-focused initiatives, Reyes brings invaluable expertise to her new role. A lifelong Pittsburgher, she is committed to strengthening the region’s visitor economy through collaboration with local leaders, organizations, and residents.

Reyes holds a distinguished record of success within the nonprofit and healthcare sectors, where she has championed initiatives that create meaningful community impact. Most recently, she served as the Director of Advocacy and External Relations at UPMC, where she played a vital role in securing funding for our region’s renowned cancer research and community-based treatment, as well as for support and resources for rural hospitals. Before then, Reyes worked as an attorney in the Government Relations group at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, where she advocated on behalf of various clients, including prominent nonprofit institutions in Pittsburgh.

Her leadership and dedication to service have earned her statewide recognition, notably being named one of the state’s “40 in their 40s” leaders by City & State PA in 2024. Reyes holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law as well as a bachelor’s degree from Miami University.

“Michelle’s collaborative approach makes her an ideal fit for this new, important role,” said Jerad Bachar, President & CEO of VisitPITTSBURGH. “As we continue to grow Pittsburgh’s tourism economy, her leadership will help us strengthen partnerships with civic, community, and business leaders to ensure the benefits of tourism are felt across the region.”

In her new role as a representative for VisitPITTSBURGH, Reyes will serve as a primary liaison for government, business, and community stakeholders. She will focus on fostering meaningful connections, deepening partnerships and ensuring tourism continues to enhance the quality of life for residents, while ensuring VisitPITTSBURGH remains competitive in its mission to drive visitors and economic impact across Allegheny County.

“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to support Pittsburgh as I join the team at VisitPITTSBURGH,” says Reyes. “Pittsburgh is a city known for its helpers. With its dedicated civic leaders, executives, and organizers, there are countless individuals prepared to rise to the challenge of further developing the city’s tourism industry.”
