MIAMI — Marriott International today announced that, as of March 28, Federico Greppi has officially assumed the role of President for the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA).
This appointment marks a significant milestone, as Greppi becomes the first Latin American to lead the CALA region for the company, succeeding Brian King, who is retiring after a distinguished 34-year career.
A Strategic Leader to Strengthen Regional Leadership
As the first Latino to head CALA, Greppi brings a strategic vision and deep market knowledge that will help further strengthen Marriott’s leadership position and long-term commitment across the Caribbean and Latin America.
Most recently serving as Chief Operations Officer for CALA, and previously as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Franchise Operations and Owner Relations in the region, Greppi has played a critical role in driving the region’s growth to more than 500 properties and strengthening overall sales performance.
Recognized for his ability to balance global strategy with local market dynamics, he leads Marriott’s focus on regional expansion, strategic partnerships, and long-term value creation for owners and stakeholders.
South America as a Key Growth Driver
Looking ahead, Greppi’s strategic priorities place particular emphasis on South America, which delivered outstanding performance in 2025, surpassing 100 properties and accounting for nearly 40% of newly signed deals.
This momentum has enabled further diversification of the development pipeline across segments and supports sustained expansion in the southern part of the region.
Executive Perspective
“Our warm and talented people, world-renowned destinations, exceptional gastronomy, and rich cultural heritage make the Caribbean and Latin America a unique ecosystem for developing world-class hospitality,” said Federico Greppi.
“Taking on a leadership role in CALA is both an honor and a great responsibility. It is not only about continuing Marriott’s growth and leadership in the region, but also about unlocking new market opportunities, contributing to economic development, generating quality employment, and helping develop the next generation of Latin American hospitality talent. Together with an exceptional team, we will work alongside our owners, partners, and industry leaders to capture the growing travel demand to the region, bring new brands and experiences to more destinations, and advance our sustainability goals, helping this extraordinary part of the world reach its full potential.”
Satya Anand, President, U.S. & Canada and CALA, added:
“We are thrilled to see Fede step into the role of President for CALA. I am confident that his deep understanding of the region, strategic mindset, and strong relationships make him exceptionally well positioned to lead Marriott CALA into its next phase of growth—further strengthening our presence, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and supporting the success of our owners.”
Strong Regional Portfolio and Continued Innovation
With more than 550 properties across 26 Marriott Bonvoy brands, the company offers one of the most extensive and diverse hospitality portfolios in the region and continues to lead in innovation tailored to the unique dynamics of each market.
