He will lead day-to-day operations and guide strategic planning for the renowned property, continuing its legacy as a premier destination for leisure, group, and luxury travelers.
Romane joins JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa with nearly three decades of hospitality experience and a distinguished
career at Marriott International. Most recently, he served as general manager of Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, where he led Arizona’s largest
hotel through a transformative reimagination aligned with Sheraton’s global brand vision. Under Romane’s leadership, the hotel achieved record revenue and GOP, top-tier associate engagement, and high guest satisfaction scores.
Prior to his three years at Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, Romane held the role of resort manager at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, where he oversaw comprehensive operations for the 950-room resort. During his tenure, Romane led the team through the pandemic recovery, spearheaded innovative revenue-driving strategies, and provided leadership for a series of major resort improvements totaling more than $60M. He also served as general manager of The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago and Fort Collins Marriott in Colorado, and held sales and operations leadership roles at Denver Marriott City Center and other key Marriott International properties across the country.
With a track record of developing high-performing teams, elevating guest experiences, and leading complex renovations and transformations, Romane brings a forward-thinking, results-driven approach to JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa. His passion for the Marriott International brand, deep market knowledge, and commitment to excellence make him a natural fit for one of the most storied resorts in the Marriott portfolio.
Originally from Colorado, Romane is a graduate of Colorado State University, holding a degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Social Sciences. He is an active member of the hospitality community and serves on several local nonprofit boards including Visit Phoenix. Romane currently resides in Phoenix with his wife, two daughters, and their mini-goldendoodle. Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling, skiing, photography, and golf.
