OMAHA, NE – Visit Omaha has promoted Erin O’Brien to vice president of marketing and communications after more than a decade of expanding the organization’s brand and digital reach. In this role, O’Brien will lead marketing, public relations, and brand strategy.
O’Brien joined Visit Omaha in 2014 as social media manager and became director of marketing in 2021, building the organization’s social media presence and expanding its digital storytelling.
“Erin has been instrumental in shaping Visit Omaha’s marketing and messaging efforts,” said Jasmyn Goodwin, executive director of Visit Omaha. “Her strategic thinking and commitment to this community make her the ideal person to lead our marketing team forward.”
As director of marketing, O’Brien managed the award-winning 2023 redesign of VisitOmaha.com, introducing personalized features including a “What Type of Traveler Are You?” tool, a neighborhood map with video content, and enhanced partner listings with richer photography. VisitOmaha.com took Gold in Website Design from the Hermes Creative Awards, Award of Excellence in Travel & Tourism Website from the Communicator Awards, and more.
She led the award-winning ‘What Type of Traveler Are You?’ influencer campaign, which generated over 7 million impressions and a $968,000 earned media value.
O’Brien also grew Omaha Restaurant Week, driving a 21% increase in participation in 2025. The program has raised more than $73,000 for Food Bank for the Heartland since 2017.
As vice president, O’Brien will continue to leverage data-driven storytelling and innovative digital strategies to elevate Omaha’s profile as a premier tourism destination.
