El Paso, Texas – Destination El Paso is proud to announce the appointment of Brooke Underwood as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective June 1, 2026. A respected leader with nearly two decades of experience in destination marketing, tourism development, and organizational leadership, Underwood steps into the role after serving as Executive Director of Visit El Paso, the destination marketing organization division of Destination El Paso. Underwood is the first native El Pasoan to lead Destination El Paso in over a quarter century, and the first female to lead.
Underwood began her career with the organization in 2008 as Director of Convention Development, where she played a key role in attracting meetings, conventions, sporting events, and group business to the region. Her leadership and strategic vision led to her promotion to Assistant General Manager before becoming Executive Director of Visit El Paso. Throughout her tenure, she has helped elevate El Paso’s profile as a premier destination for leisure travel, meetings, sports, and major events while contributing to significant economic impact for the community.
As President and CEO, Underwood will oversee the organization’s three divisions, Visit El Paso, El Paso Live, and El Paso Water Parks, while continuing to advance Destination El Paso’s mission of enhancing quality of life, economic development, and showcasing the community to visitors from around the world.
