Columbia Hospitality, a North American hospitality management and consulting company, is expanding its presence in Oregon. Its largest hotel to date is joining the portfolio: Valley River Inn, located in Eugene, Oregon.
Valley River Inn features 259 luxurious guest rooms and suites, many with patios or balconies overlooking the Willamette River. The historic hotel was constructed with a nod to the area’s logging history, with original timber creating a lodge-like ambiance.
The rooms were fully renovated in 2024 with modern amenities, local art, wood furniture, and luxury bedding. With the renovation and redesign, the property preserved unique elements, including the chandelier in the lobby, brickwork from the 1970s, and the beams, all with a beautifully rethought design that incorporates elements of Eugene.
The hotel’s signature restaurant, Sweet Waters on the River, has a seasonal menu with a cozy fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows with a panoramic view of the river, and an expansive outdoor patio. The property also has over 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The hotel is a short distance from Downtown Eugene, the University of Oregon, Autzen Stadium (home of _2024 Big Ten Champions_ Oregon Ducks), Hayward Field (world-renowned track and field facility that hosted the last three consecutive U.S. Olympic Trials), plus local wineries, breweries, and an abundance of outdoor adventure activities.
Columbia Hospitality began management of Valley River Inn and Sweet Waters on January 1, 2025. This is in addition to a large group of hotels, resorts, bars and restaurants, distinctive venues, spas, golf courses, and residential communities that Columbia Hospitality manages and operates.
