ATLANTA (June 26, 2025) – On June 24, the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) hosted an industry briefing at the historic Tabernacle, highlighting the approaches to sustainability of its member organizations. The event featured a panel discussion moderated by Tim Trefzer, Vice President of Sports and Venues at Honeycomb Strategies, a leading organization specializing in sustainable solutions for the hospitality industry. Panelists included hospitality executives Allison Grady, senior director of catering sales, Wolfgang Puck Catering; Derrick Morrow, vice president and general manager, Hyatt Regency Atlanta; and Shawn Teske, vice president of operations, fan experience, and infrastructure at Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame.
The panel discussed various sustainable initiatives, including raising bees on the rooftops of Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Wolfgang Puck Catering’s responsible seafood sourcing, and the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame’s LEED building certification process.
This briefing is part of ACVB’s broader commitment to sustainability, which includes a partnership with Honeycomb Strategies. This partnership is helping the organization launch a green team composed of ACVB members, a sustainable member website directory, and a green meeting planner toolkit, along with additional initiatives.
