Some of us might remember the 1990 TV sitcom “Hot in Cleveland,” about three unlikely roommates of various ages trying to hold it all together in Cleveland, or The Drew Carey Show, about the shenanigans of a group of department store employees trying to just get by in life – also in Cleveland. Both shows were huge hits and produced a lot of laughs – probably made most of us think, “Hey, Cleveland must be a fun place to be.” Yes, it is a fun place to be and so much more, as out-of-town visitors, meeting attendees, and convention-goers alike will tell you.
Located on Lake Erie, with a river (Cuyahoga) running through it, Cleveland is a bustling city with great facilities like the newly renovated Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland. It also offers an assortment of unique venues, popular restaurants, lively nightspots, historical sights, and one-of-a-kind attractions—like the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and The Flats, a mixed-use area of the Cuyahoga Valley neighborhood.
But, back to the convention center. Located in the heart of Downtown Cleveland, the LEED Gold-certified Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland provides meeting planners with more than 410,000 square feet of prime event space. Connected to the center are the 600-room Hilton Cleveland Downtown and Cleveland Public Auditorium, so the city’s convention center is a convenient location to host small executive meetings or large industry trade shows—an added plus!
In addition, the downtown convention center is within walking distance of almost 5,000 guestrooms and a wide range of restaurants, nightspots, attractions, and other points of interest for casual visitors and meeting-goers alike.
However, The big news is that this summer, Cleveland will proudly host ASAE’s Annual Meeting & Exposition, August 10-13, 2024, so one could say it’s hot in Cleveland once again. ASAE’s theme this year is “In unity, we thrive!” Naturally, the city is gearing up for the big event and practically exclaims: “Whether you’re attending a session inside the newly expanded Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland or making a slam-dunk connection at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, which recently debuted a $185 million renovation, you’ll understand why we call Cleveland ‘The Land of Exceeding Expectations.’”
With sports, culture, restaurants, and more, Cleveland is electrified with positive energy, and it can’t wait for ASAE attendees to discover it for themselves. It’s athletic, outdoorsy, interesting, engaging, hospitable, and tasty
As comedian-actor Drew Carey exclaimed on his weekly show in the 90s: “Cleveland Rocks!” Yes, it does, Drew. Find out more: www.thisiscleveland.com.
