VenuWorks Announces New Corporate Appointments

    AMES, IA — VenuWorks Founder/CEO Steve Peters has announced the appointment of Tom Richter as a Regional Vice President. Richter has served as Executive Director of the VenuWorks-managed Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD, for the past 20 years. His new role will include providing direction to several venue locations managed by VenuWorks, for which he will serve as the primary corporate liaison to both clients and venue management staff. His new duties will begin Aug. 1.

    “I am excited to join the Corporate team and look forward to working with the executive directors to deliver on our commitments to our clients,” said Richter.

    Peters also announced a change in assignment for longtime VenuWorks Vice President John Siehl. Effective Aug. 1, Siehl will become VenuWorks’ Vice President for Risk Management. In this capacity, he will direct the VenuWorks safety team, monitor the administration of insurance claims and oversee venue compliance with safety, fire and OSHA regulations. He will also represent VenuWorks in the Event Safety Alliance.

    “I am excited to accept this new challenge. Now more than ever, we must be taking the appropriate steps to ensure the safety and security of our patrons, clients and employees,” said Siehl.

    Siehl is a past IAVM chairman and has served as an instructor and administrator for IAVM’s Academy for Venue Safety and Security.     Over the course of the next six months, several locations now serviced by Siehl will be transitioned to Richter or to VenuWorks Executive Vice President Joe Romano.
