Arizona State University and Oak View Group today revealed a series of nationally and locally recognized food and beverage partners to offer their signature menu items as part of the guest experience at the new 5,000-seat, multi-purpose on-campus Mullett Arena.
Mullett Arena will serve as the new home of Sun Devil Athletics’ events and competitions, concerts, conferences, youth competitions, educational opportunities, and more. Mullett Arena will host its inaugural event on Friday, October 14, when the ASU Sun Devils men’s hockey team hosts Colgate. Mullett Arena is also the new home of the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League.
OVG Hospitality – a division of OVG360, which operates the new arena – will oversee all food and beverage management and onsite catering at Mullett Arena. OVG’s sponsorship division, Global Partnerships, brokered the deals with many of the concession providers to offer an incredible, delectable and savory experience for all guests during all Mullett Arena events.
The opening food and beverage lineup at Mullett Arena features:
  • Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers, of Scottsdale, Ariz., hand-crafted and made from scratch, offering the All-American Burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a pickle or the 1000 Island featuring provolone, lettuce, 1,000 island dressing, and a pickle.
  • Venezia’s New York Style Pizzeria, of Tempe, Ariz., features locally made, authentic New York-style pizza slices.
  • Sparky’s Hot Spot, an in-house branded concept offering elevated arena favorites, including a Sonoran Chicken Cheesesteak with grilled chicken, onions, and bell peppers smothered in a jalapeno cheese sauce, and a Steak Supreme Nachos with Carne Asada, cheese sauce, Pico de Gallo, and sour cream.
  • Mullett Marketplace, a Grab ‘n’ Go marketplace serving a variety of freshly made items, snacks, sweet treats, and favorite beverages, including the Orange Chicken over fried rice, Chicken Fajita Wraps, and Cobb Salads.
  • Shaq’s Big Chicken features Big Flavor, Big Food, and Big Fun, offering their signature M.D.E., a large fried chicken breast on a delicious roll with Shaq sauce and pickles. Or Uncle Jerome, a large Nashville hot chicken breast on a delicious roll with lettuce, mayo, and pickles. Although Shaq’s Big Chicken is featured at several OVG-owned-and-operated venues nationwide, this marks the national brand’s first foray into Arizona.
Mullett Arena will offer Bar-S Beef Franks and sliced Italian meats. The Bar-S Inferno Dog will be a hot sauce- and cheese-infused beef frank topped with desert slaw and pico de gallo.
“We are creating the ultimate fan experience for ASU and their guests,” said Robert Brackett, General Manager, OVG Hospitality at Mullett Arena. “Food is an integral part of that experience. With our high level of customer service and our high-quality in-arena food and beverage offerings, we have crafted a menu that will satisfy all hunger and thirst when guests visit Mullett Arena for hockey, concerts, or other types of live events.”
“We are grateful to our partnership with Oak View Group who have gone above and beyond in creating the ultimate experience for our guests that extends beyond athletic events to include concerts, family shows, and other forms of entertainment,” said Frank Ferrara, Sun Devil Athletics Sr. Associate AD, and CFO.
At ASU, the new Mullett Arena includes 20 luxury suites, two group suites, a large club lounge, and event-level premium club seats. The Coors Light Club Chill is the club lounge on the Level 2 main concourse that runs along center ice and can host up to 500 fans. On Level 3, a social deck, the Dos Equis Devil Deck, will run the length of the east side of the venue, providing an open-air, aerial view of the arena where fans can interact while still experiencing exceptional sightlines for athletic competitions, concerts, and family shows.
Additionally, a 942-seat student section will occupy the entire west side of the venue to provide an enhanced gameday experience for ASU students. Mullett Arena includes eight additional locker rooms between the main arena and the community ice sheet that can be utilized for visiting teams, youth programs, ASU club programs, and live events.
