Seasoned industry veteran brings extensive luxury experience to the
iconic French Quarter hotel
NEW ORLEANS (June 24, 2024) – The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans has
announced the appointment of industry veteran Wayne Morris to General
Manager. Morris’ luxury hospitality roots are within The Ritz-Carlton,
as he first began his career in 2000 on Canal Street at the beloved
French Quarter Hotel, and later spent over 8 years with the brand. More
than two decades later, Morris will lead The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans
into its next era as the hotel anticipates a milestone 25th anniversary
in 2025.
As General Manager, Morris will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s
operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, hospitality and
guest satisfaction, alongside the day-to-day operations and growth of
its Ladies & Gentlemen. Throughout his career, he has played an
integral role in several Ritz-Carlton properties, including Aspen
Highlands, Sarasota, South Beach, and Reynolds Lake Oconee,
strengthening each hotel’s position as a premier luxury destination in
their respective markets. Morris looks forward to doing the same within
New Orleans’ competitive luxury hotel scene while maintaining The
Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans’ legacy of exceptional hospitality.
“We are thrilled to welcome Wayne Morris as the General Manager of The
Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans,” said John Harper, Area Vice President,
Luxury Brands. “He is recognized for growing revenue and profits,
achieving industry-leading satisfaction scores, and fostering
best-in-class employee engagement. His extensive experience and proven
leadership in these areas are a tremendous asset for the hotel, ensuring
we continue to excel and grow in the competitive luxury market.”
Most recently, Morris served as Vice President of the Health and
Wellness Division at Ochsner Health, the largest health system in
Louisiana. During his tenure, he spearheaded several corporate
initiatives such as “Best Place to Work” programs and developed new
business and service lines, increasing revenues by over $150 million.
Morris holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree
from The University of Southern Mississippi. Beyond his professional
achievements, he is passionate about philanthropy, and he serves on
multiple boards and committees to raise funds to fight against heart
disease.
