Virginia Beach, Va. – July 25, 2024 – The Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau (VBCVB) proudly announced that the Virginia Beach Convention Center has successfully retained its prestigious LEED® Gold certification. As the nation’s first convention center to achieve this distinction as an existing building in 2010, the facility has continued to set the standard for sustainability for more than a dozen years.
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the world’s most widely recognized green building rating system. It symbolizes excellence in and a commitment to environmental stewardship. Through innovative design, construction, and operational practices that enhance environmental and human health, LEED-certified buildings like the Virginia Beach Convention Center are paving the way toward a more sustainable future.
