Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA)
today commemorated the installation of the final piece of structural
steel in the $600 million renovation of the Las Vegas Convention
Center’s (LVCC) legacy campus. Traditionally known as a Topping Out
ceremony, the 50-foot beam was signed by members of the LVCVA’s
workforce, community leaders, construction partners, and more than 300
tradesmen and women who worked on the project before being installed in
the frame atop Central Hall.
The Topping Out is an important milestone in the project, which launched
in 2023 to extend the contemporary design and architecture of the
state-of-the-art West Hall. Construction work on the South Hall
completed in January and will continue in the Central and North halls
through 2025, with work designed around the tradeshow schedule. Today’s
event featured remarks by Steve Hill, LVCVA president and CEO, and Jim
Gibson, chairman of both the Clark County Commission and the LVCVA Board
of Directors.

than $15 billion to our local economy. In 2023, the LVCC hosted 48
