RENO, Nev. (July 10, 2024) – The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors
Authority (RSCVA) today announced John McGinnes as the Vice President of
Sales for Reno Tahoe.
“John’s experience, energy and leadership style make him the ideal
candidate to lead the Reno Tahoe sales team,” said Reno Tahoe President
and CEO Mike Larragueta. “His ability to bring competitiveness and
creativity to this vital role will help to enhance the sustained effort
to be known as a premier destination for group business, meetings and
events.”
Reporting to the President and CEO, McGinnes is responsible for leading
the development and implementation of convention sales, and tour and
travel sales programs. McGinnes also provides leadership in the
development and implementation of long and short-term programs and goals
and is responsible for developing and administering the budget of the
convention and tourism sales teams.

travel and tourism sector,” said McGinnes. “I’m looking forward to
hitting the ground running and working with the entire Reno Tahoe team
to benefit our customers, as well as the businesses and residents of
Northern Nevada.”
McGinnes joins Reno Tahoe with more than 30 years of experience in the
hospitality industry, leading high-performing sales teams at regional
resorts and international hotel chains. Most recently the Executive
Director of Sales for Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, McGinnes previously
served on the board of the Regional Air Service Corporation and was a
commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, serving eight years in the Army
Reserve & National Guard.
