New interactive video series features locals honoring the Black experience in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 13, 2023) — In celebration of Black History
Month, the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) has launched
“Experience Little Rock in Color,” its new interactive video series
that features local Black community influencers as they discuss the
Black experience in Little Rock, Arkansas’s capital city.

On Feb. 7, 2023, community and business leaders gathered alongside
tourism industry partners at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center for the
premiere of this series. During the event, Black Little Rock artists
joined LRCVB on stage to celebrate Black culture, commemorating the
start of Black History Month.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Black History Month with the launch of
our new video series,” said Gina Gemberling, president, and CEO of the
LRCVB. “Little Rock is a dynamic and diverse community that pairs
different cultures with world-class attractions, restaurants and
experiences. We are proud to spotlight our city’s rich Black history
and culture and look forward to expanding our video series to connect
with more diverse communities that make our city a unique, must-see
destination for visitors and locals alike.”

Hosted by local radio personality Mia Banks, the video series includes
more than 30 Black business leaders, community influencers, and residents
as they discuss the various restaurants, attractions, and experiences
that makes them _Big on Little Rock_.

“This new video series combines both Black culture and community to
tell the story of the people, places, and things that bring Little
Rock’s Black community together,” said Kasey Summerville, vice
president of marketing, communications, and community engagement at the
LRCVB. “We thank our incredible partners for their participation and
hope this campaign continues to foster a sense of togetherness.”

“Experience Little Rock in Color” will be published on LRCVB’s
Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram pages throughout the month, beginning
Feb. 7, 2023. Viewers can tune in by visiting and following the LRCVB on

The LRCVB remains committed to its Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
(EDI) efforts for the city. In addition to recently rolling out a
10-year tourism master plan that includes EDI initiatives, the
Bureau’s new “Experience Little Rock in Color” campaign serves to
celebrate the capital city’s excellence, uniqueness, and sense of
community.
