June 15, 2023 -Discover Santa Clara(R), the official destination marketing
organization (DMO) for Santa Clara, CA, has filled two key positions.
Katelyn Studebaker joined as Director of Marketing on May 3, 2023.
Luz Chatman will begin as Director of Sales on June 26, 2023.

Discover Santa Clara(R) markets and promotes Santa Clara and the Santa
Clara Convention Center [1] as the destination of choice for national,
regional, and local organizations and as a premium destination for
conventions, meetings, trade shows, athletics, and group leisure events.
The destination includes Levi’s(R) Stadium [2], the location of the Super Bowl
LX and an official host community for the 2026 FIFA World Cup(tm), both
in 2026. Santa Clara’s attractions also include California’s Great America [3]
amusement park, Intel Museum [4], and the Triton Museum of Art [5].
The campus of the renowned Santa Clara University [6] is also the location
of the historic Mission Santa Clara de Asis [7], and the de Saisset Museum [8].
As Director of Marketing, Katelyn Studebaker develops a wide range of
strategies to gain visibility for the destination and its partners, including
creating and implementing Discover Santa Clara’s marketing plan,
expanding key databases to broaden reach, and creating rich content that
tells the vibrant story and culture of Santa Clara. These promotional efforts
will increase lead volume and grow exposure and revenue.
With a lifelong dedication to the hospitality industry, her marketing
experience includes live events, food and beverage, entertainment, and
commercial real estate. Studebaker has marketed some South Bay gems,
including Eastridge Center, Improv Comedy Clubs, and The Mountain Winery.
Professional areas of strength include database growth, digital ad buying,
public relations, revenue-generating event creation, and data analytics.
As a San Jose native, she brings an extensive network of relationships
and an intimate understanding of the local market.
As Director of Sales, Luz Chatman will develop and implement a strategy
for promoting Santa Clara as a first-rate meeting and convention
destination. She and her sales team will be responsible for actively
creating business through strategic direction, building client
partnerships, filling the sales funnel, and driving hotel room nights
and convention center revenue to meet key performance indicators.
Originally from San Jose, Chatman brings more than 15 years of Bay Area
hotel sales leadership experience developing sales and marketing strategies,
managing high-profile customers, developing multiple sales channels, and
partnering with marketing to develop key markets. Chatman comes most
recently from Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Alton Hotel, and has held sales
leadership positions with Highgate Hotels SF, Destination Hotels & Resorts,
Accor Hotels, and MetWest Terra Hospitality. Her experience also includes
opening and relaunching iconic hotels such as The Marker, Stanford Court,
Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa, and most recently the Kimpton Alton in
Fisherman’s Wharf.
