San Diego, CA – Evans Hotels [2], the San Diego-based, family-owned
hospitality company comprised of the Bahia Resort Hotel, Catamaran
Resort Hotel and Spa, and The Lodge at Torrey Pines, is pleased to
announce Stefan Peroutka as the new General Manager of the Bahia Resort
[3]. He replaces Jayne Aston who has been promoted to General Manager of
the Catamaran Resort [4].
“We’re delighted to welcome Stefan to Evans Hotels,” said Robert
Gleason, President and CEO of Evans Hotels. “His extensive hospitality
experience overseeing food and beverage programming and operations for
some of the world’s finest hotels and restaurants is sure to expand
and enhance the guest experience at the Bahia Resort.”
Prior to joining Evans Hotels, Peroutka worked for the Hotel del
Coronado, where for the past eight years he successfully led the
culinary department as Executive Chef, overseeing 11 food & beverage
outlets and 22 culinary and stewarding leaders. Prior to The Del, he was
based in Las Vegas, directing banquet culinary operations at The
Venetian in Las Vegas from 2010-2017 and working with famed Chef Charlie
Palmer at his Michelin Star restaurant Aureole from 2007-2010.
Peroutka’s earlier culinary career spanned the globe, including roles
at one of Portugal’s finest luxury hotels, Vila Vita Parc, Hotel
Almhof in Austria, The Ranier’s Club in Seattle, and Erna’s
Elderberry House in Oakhurst, CA.
Peroutka holds a degree from the Salzburg Hospitality and Culinary
School in Austria. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his
family, including his wife, stepson, and their dog George, and pursuing
a variety of hobbies and outdoor sports such as running, road biking,
hiking, and scuba diving. His family shares his love for travel and
exploration.
Aston replaces former Catamaran Resort General Manager Jim Chester, who
recently moved on to new opportunities in Atlanta. “Jim was an
integral part of our company’s success, and we greatly appreciate his
leadership and vision over the past 15 years,” continued Gleason.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jayne to the Catamaran and are grateful
for her continued and exceptional service to Evans Hotels and our
guests. Her inspiring leadership of her team has created a passion and
enthusiasm felt throughout the resort.”
Aston leads the day-to-day operations at the Catamaran Resort, San
Diego’s premier Polynesian-style resort on Mission Bay and home of the
popular summer Sunset Luaus [5]. Aston was previously General Manager of
the Bahia Resort, since 2022.
