The 325-room hotel and conference center now features a people-centric
redesign to inspire innovation and collaboration in a stress-reducing
environment
Atlanta – November 1, 2022 – The Emory Conference Center Hotel,
Atlanta’s first LEED-certified conference center recently completed a
multimillion reimagination of the property, including redesigned
conference space with the latest advances in technology and audio-visual
systems, amphitheaters, lobby, communal space, bar, and hotel guest rooms
that put people first. The property, which officially re-opens on
November 10 with an event for Emory University officials, hotel owners,
meeting planners and guests feature new collaborative spaces and
modern amenities designed to invigorate the mind, inspire innovation and
reduce stress.
Emory Conference Center Hotel is located six miles from downtown Atlanta
within a 26-acre forest preserve in the storied Druid Hills
neighborhood. The property features a biophilic design, which aims to
bring the outdoors in to improve psychological, physical, and emotional
well-being. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow guests to experience the
outdoors from the comfort of nearly every meeting room in the conference
facility year-round regardless of the weather. Multiple outdoor event
spaces allow for fresh air, and all-inclusive conference packages help
groups escape to an environment specifically designed for relaxation,
gathering, and enjoyment.
“The property renovations are forward-looking and designed to
anticipate evolving guest expectations,” said Peter Dunn, general
manager, the Emory Conference Center Hotel. “In designing the
enhancements, we worked closely with our customers who provided
invaluable input.”
Dunn continued, “I am proud to announce that we received 2022
Reader’s Choice Award for the sixth time from ConventionSouth
magazine, making us one of only 30 winners in the state of Georgia.”
More About the Renovation
In keeping with its eco-first roots, the redesign focused on using local
Atlanta designers and materials throughout the facility, including
furniture and fabrics, to reduce the carbon footprint and improve the
renovation’s construction timeline.
Along with cosmetic enhancements, the Emory Conference Center Hotel made
a significant investment in state-of-the-art AV and technology upgrades
to meet today’s demand for hybrid and in-person events. Upgrades
include 10K projection systems with wireless presentation capabilities,
video conferencing systems with built-in cameras for amphitheaters and
meeting rooms, improved high-speed internet, and more. Apart from the
conference spaces, high-tech touches include portals and connectivity in
communal break spaces, and a new house sound system throughout the North
and South Towers.
Unique to Atlanta hotels and conference centers, Emory Conference Center
Hotel offers a range of distinct meeting spaces and amenities beyond the
typical ballroom.
“The redesigned Emory Conference Center Hotel provides organizations
with a high level of return on investment. Teams are more engaged, ready
to perform and be reinvigorated after meeting in an environment designed to
reduce stress,” said Guido Brun, director of sales and marketing –
Emory Conference Center Hotel. “Guests can access nearby nature trails
for hiking, biking, jogging, or just a short stroll to break up the day
and re-energize themselves for creative and innovative thinking,” he
added.
The open lobby in the main Conference Center facility features
Dooley’s Grounds, a specialty brewed coffee, tea, and pastries shop
that gives a nod to Emory University’s unofficial mascot known for
canceling classes and other mischievous behavior each spring.
Dooley’s Grounds serves Dancing Goats [9] roast coffee from Atlanta
roasters Batdorf & Bronson.
Silverbell Pavilion features wrap-around windows that provide
unobstructed views of the lush natural setting. The veranda includes an
indoor/outdoor fireplace and seating.
Wisteria Lanes is Atlanta’s only hotel bowling alley. The retro-style
venue offers six bowling lanes, a lounge, billiard tables, and video
gaming stations perfect for corporate events and social gatherings.
The Houston Mill House is a historic manor on the Conference Center’s
property that features lush landscapes, a charming terrace, and a gazebo,
and an impressive interior design for more intimate events and dinners.
The hotel features 325 newly renovated and modern guestrooms, including
six executive suites, an updated fitness center, a pool, and access to
hiking and walking trails. The hotel is perfect for a week-day break or
weekend getaway with easy access to attractions like Fernbank Museum
[10], The Michael C. Carlos Museum [11], Callanwolde [12], Atlanta
Botanical Garden [13], Jimmy Carter Presidential Library [14] and the
David J. Sencer CDC Museum [15].
