NEW TWO-ACRE OUTDOOR VENUE DESIGNED TO ENHANCE MEETING AND CONVENTION EXPERIENCES
CINCINNATI, OH (For Immediate Release) – The development team behind
Cincinnati’s Convention District has broken ground on Elm Street Plaza,
a pivotal addition to the city’s expanding convention infrastructure.
This new two-acre flexible outdoor venue, part of the $700 million
reimagination of the district aims to redefine event capabilities for
meeting planners and convention attendees alike.
The Elm Street Plaza transforms a former city street into a blend of
paved event areas and green landscapes. The versatile setting will be
connected to the convention center’s exhibit halls for
large-scale social gatherings and events.
The amenities include:
* A Pavillion for Concerts and Presentations
* A Permanent Bar
* Spaces for Foot Trucks to Park
* Restrooms
* Walking Paths
When not used by convention clients, Elm Street Plaza will be accessible
to the public, with additional amenities like interactive water
features and public art installations. Plans also include
potential seasonal programming such as downtown’s ice rink.
Construction of Elm Street Plaza runs parallel to ongoing renovations at
the convention center, with an anticipated completion slated for late
2025. This initiative forms a core component of the broader Convention
District revitalization, which includes upcoming projects like a new 800
key convention headquarters hotel and mixed-use developments aimed at
further enriching the urban core’s appeal.
