Bay Area hospitality specialist is now Director of Sales & DestinationServices at the official destination marketing organization (DMO) for Santa Clara, CA

August 5, 2024 – Teipo Brown, Jr. has joined Discover Santa Clara(R),
the official destination marketing organization (DMO) for Santa Clara,
CA, as Director of Sales & Destination Services.

Discover Santa Clara(R) markets and promotes the city of Santa Clara,
the Santa Clara Convention Center [1], partner hotels and venues as the
destination of choice to national, regional, and local organizations and
as a premium destination for conventions, meetings, trade shows,
athletics, and group leisure events. The destination includes Levi’s(R)
Stadium [2], location of Super Bowl LX and an official host community
for the 2026 FIFA World Cup(tm), both in 2026.  Santa Clara’s
attractions also include California’s Great America [3] amusement park,
Intel Museum [4], and the Triton Museum of Art [5]. The campus of the
renown Santa Clara University [6] is also the location of the historic
Mission Santa Clara de Asis [7], and the de Saisset Museum [8].  

Brown leads all sales efforts, including oversight of market and channel
strategy, customer identification and key account development,
partnerships, and tradeshow management. The

execution of these and other initiatives support increasing the funnel
of business opportunities, generate increased room night production, and
elevate the status of the destination.

Brown has held Director of Sales positions with the San Francisco
Peninsula (DMO), the Tri-Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau, and
Marriott International properties in Oakland, Emeryville, South San
Francisco, and San Mateo.  He has also held sales and management
positions with independent hotel brands throughout the Bay Area. He also
served as a hospitality sales consultant, leveraging his expertise to
deliver strategic insights and drive results.
