World Renowned Lifestyle Brand Taps Top-Level Talent to Launch Property Debuting December 1
LAS VEGAS, NV — W Las Vegas has announced the appointment of Mark Eberwein as General Manager and Christopher Adam Baran as Vice President of Sales and Marketing — a formidable duo instrumental in overseeing the launch of the new property opening inside the SLS Las Vegas December 1. Eberwein brings to his new role more than 20 years of hospitality industry expertise with a focus on food & beverage practices and Baran more than 12 years of success in strategic marketing at a variety of resorts and destinations. The appointment of these positions signifies a strong start for the W Las Vegas team and hotel opening.

As General Manager of W Las Vegas, Eberwein oversees all operational aspects of the property. He brings twenty years of hospitality expertise to his position, which has been honed over the course of his career managing W hotels, with prior positions as General Manager at W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills and Hotel Manager at W San Francisco. Eberwein launched his career as the Sommelier of Rancho Bernardo Inn’s El Bizcocho Restaurant, one of San Diego’s top fine dining establishments, overseeing a wine list of nearly 2,000 selections. He then held the title of Director of Food and Beverage, and Certified Sommelier at The St. Regis Deer Valley in Park City, Utah. Eberwein was later recognized with the prestigious honor of being named one of Food & Wine Magazine’s “Top Sommeliers of 2011.” He has been a key player in the successful opening of the W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills and in revamping the beverage programs at Starwood hotels during his time on the Starwood Food & Beverage Council. Eberwein is lauded for his managerial vision, team building skills and exceptional ability to create impactful results and guide teams through strategic change towards success.
As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Baran is responsible for developing strategic marketing campaigns, overseeing the property’s operating structures and coaching the property to create and execute strategic goals for W Las Vegas. Baran has an extensive background in hospitality, having held positions as the Sales Manager for Caesar’s Palace, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Lowes Miami Beach Hotel, Associate Director of Sales for the M Resort, Spa and Casino, and Director of Sales and Marketing for the Birmingham Westin and Sheraton. He brings with him a track record of success in steadily increasing hotel profits, inspiring team leaders and managers, and elevating levels of customer service within the hospitality industry and plans to continue this inspiring leadership at W Las Vegas.
