SAVANNAH, GA — After breaking ground last year, the Savannah Convention Center expansion project is on schedule for completion in 2023. The project will add a 100,000-sq.-ft. exhibit hall, 40,000-sq.-ft. ballroom, 15 meeting rooms and 900+ parking spaces.
In August, the new route of egress and temporary stairs in the existing East Concourse were completed. The State of Georgia Fire Marshall inspected the work and approved the new egress. This milestone allowed Clark Construction Group to launch the full demolition of the northeast corner of the existing building, which began on the first of September.
