ROCHESTER, NY — The 2020 F&D Prime Site Award-winning Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center recently received the GBAC STAR accreditation, demonstrating the ability to prepare for, respond and recover from outbreaks and pandemics. New policies and procedures have been implemented, such as required facemasks and health screenings for anyone who enters the building, and additional hand sanitizers and signage throughout the venue as a reminder to guests and employees to follow all CDC guidelines.
In addition, the Floreano Convention Center is currently undergoing two renovation projects: installment of new escalators throughout the facility and replacement of the partition walls in the lower-level ballrooms.
In the spring, Foodlink utilized the building as a packing and distribution center. The organization is currently storing over 700 pallets of food in the Empire Hall as it prepares to serve the local community through a second wave of the pandemic.
“We have also taken this time to better educate our staff on the Ungerboeck Event Software, and have earned a total of seven Ungerboeck Certifications within our team,” notes Meredith Howie, Event Coordinator at the center.
