MADISON, WI – Bucky’s march on Madison is set to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 9 a.m., as corporations, businesses and other interested parties will have the opportunity to secure their 2018 Bucky on Parade sponsorship.
Bucky on Parade is a free public art event that will bring over 100 life-sized Bucky Badger statues to the streets of Madison and Dane County. Local and regional artists will transform these Bucky statues into works of art that will be on display from May through September 2018. Sponsors are able to select their preferred Bucky statue design, which means the earlier they register the more choices they will have. Proceeds will benefit worthy causes including Wisconsin men’s basketball coach Greg Gard’s Garding Against Cancer initiative, the Madison Area Sports Commission and other local charities.
“We are excited to bring Bucky on Parade to life in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin. This event is sure to engage our community and positively touch many people’s lives,” says Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and Madison Area Sports Commission (MASC) President and CEO Deb Archer. “Unique opportunities like this don’t come along very often, and we are eager to invite individuals and businesses to join us as part of the parade.”
