RSCVA Names Michael Larragueta As Vice President of Sales

  • RENO, NV — The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) announced today the appointment of Michael Larragueta as Vice President of Sales.

    Larragueta joins the RSCVA most recently from Silver Legacy, Eldorado and Circus Circus, where he was Executive Director of Sales, responsible for sales and occupancy of the 4,200-room, multi-property casino-resort development.

    Having international gaming resort experience, Larragueta served previously as Vice President of Global Distribution Sales for the mega-resort Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas; arguably the most luxurious resort in the Caribbean, with more than 2,200 rooms and suites in four world-class properties.

    Prior to Baha Mar, Larragueta led successful sales efforts for several Las Vegas-based resorts for more than 13 years. He was Vice President of Sales and Catering for Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, as well as The Palms Casino Resort, and was the Director of Leisure Sales and Executive Director of Partnership Marketing at the 7,000-unit, all-suites Venetian | Palazzo Las Vegas.

    Originally from Winnemucca, Larragueta is a third-generation Nevadan and a University of Nevada, Reno graduate.

    Larragueta will mentor and direct the RSCVA convention and leisure sales teams while providing leadership and strategic direction in the implementation of the RSCVA’s short and long range plans, programs, goals and objectives in the convention and leisure marketplace. Larragueta’s official start date will be Wednesday, February 22nd.
