MONTEREY, CA — The Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau (MCCVB) has appointed Wendy Norgren as Regional Sales Executive. Norgren will serve the MCCVB in the Northeast region of the United States, Eastern Canada and the European group market.
“We are thrilled to welcome Wendy to the team,” says Mark McMinn, VP of Group Sales and Services at the MCCVB. “Her talent and experience in our industry are a winning combination — particularly in the Northeast region where there is growing interest in our destination.”
“I’m delighted to join the incredible team at the MCCVB and bring clients to one of California’s most extraordinary meetings destinations,” says Norgren. “There are many clients who are looking for the kind of inspired experiences unique to Monterey County, and I’m going to help them find them.”
Norgren has been in the hospitality and tourism industry for more than 12 years. Prior to joining the MCCVB, she was the Regional Sales Manager for the Fairmont Mayakoba for the East Coast. She has also represented Caesars Entertainment hotels in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
Monterey County is currently seeing investment in property renovations and additions, including the $60 million renovation of the Monterey Conference Center, which reopened in early 2018. In addition, air service has recently expanded with both United Airlines and American Airlines offering nonstop flights to the destination from Denver and Dallas, respectively.
